I have been a member of Paypal since 2006 and use it exclusively for website payment. I also have an excellent seller rating with them which means that I have a good reputation as a seller. This is important because if your seller reputation is damaged, you lose the right to use their system.
However, I have recently been informed by Paypal that they are now requiring some Guest Users to create a Paypal Account.
The way it has been explained to me is that for those people who frequently use Paypal as a “Guest” without creating account those people will now be prompted for account creation. So some of you may attempt payment and may not be required to create an account, but those of you who frequently do so, will have to.
I wanted to let you know that if you wish to purchase a membership or even a personal reading but DO NOT WISH TO CREATE ACCOUNT, you can simply email me and I will send you an invoice from Paypal. Doing it this way does NOT require that you create a Paypal account. Again, I can simply send you an invoice and you can make payment with your card through it. This was passed on to me via the Paypal Business Division.
**If you are not required to create an account, simply look for the check boxes when you get to checkout that say:
- Pay with Paypal account
- Pay with card.
If you are not prompted to create an account, chose option #2.
Paypal does not charge a fee to anyone for making a purchase using the gateway. The account is free and there is no minimum amount requirement.
Many of you have been asking me to consider other payment options and my decision to continue using Paypal is because of the benefits offered.
When you become a Paypal member you are protected under both buyer & seller protection rights. In other words, if you buy something through Paypal and the item has either not been received or is defective in some way, Paypal will work with you in either resolving that issue or issuing you a full refund.
If you are a seller, then if you sell something to someone who then attempts to institute a frivolous claim against you, they will work with you as the seller in protecting your money, account and seller rating.
As it stands right now, I am not aware of any other payment gateway option that has this level of protection for both sellers & buyers so this is why I only use Paypal.
Also, I have been mentioning that the banking laws will be changing due to government de-regulations concerning consumer protection rights. I feel that Paypal is instituting this new policy procedure in order to get ahead of the curve on this. So although this may seem to be inconvenience..creating a Paypal account….in the long run, there’s just no substitute for knowing that you have protection for your purchases and selling.
